Shannon (Singer & Vocal coach) grew up in Anchorage, Alaska and began piano and ballet at the early age of 3 before continuing onto voice at age 5. She performed for the first time on stage at only 3 years old as "Gus Gus" in Cinderella. After that experience (and a slight spill off the stage) she realized the show must go on. She had found her passion!
She began studying with the Alaska Children's Choir, which gave her the music theory and sight reading foundation that helped her throughout college and her career. She then moved onto Allegro!, a 50s and 60's rock and roll group that was a part of the Alaska Academy for the Performing Arts. Shannon also continued private voice, piano, ballet, began playing the french horn, sang with school choirs, performed in school musicals and spent summers at the Fairbanks Fine Arts Camp.
Shannon has sung all over the world on tours and in competitions since her first choir tour at age 8. She has been lucky enough to sing: in the White House Rose Garden; for the President of the United States during his stop in Anchorage; at the Lincoln Memorial; at the Bournemouth Music Competition, winning the choral division; at the Llangollen International Music Festival Eisteddfod, participating in the solo and choral competitions; at the Forbidden City Concert Hall
in Beijing; at concerts around Shanghai; and in other tours and competitions all over the United States.
Since her childhood, Shannon always had big dreams of leaving Alaska and moving to Hollywood so it only seemed natural to apply to college in Southern California.
She applied for, and received, a vocal scholarship to Chapman University where she studied vocal performance and first found a love for opera. Following her freshman year of college she auditioned for the Entertainment Department at the Disneyland Resort, and continued working at the Resort throughout college.
Having a classical background gave her the skills to pursue both opera and musical theater after college as well as choral opportunities such as being in Holiday Caroling groups since childhood.
Shannon enjoys sharing her love of music with her students to give them the skills that she was lucky enough to be taught at an early age. Whether it be something you just want to do for fun, or you're discovering your passion, Shannon is excited to help you develop your talent.
Shannon recently moved to Las Vegas with her husband and is looking forward to meeting you!
